HoneyBee Safari in the Heart of Tuscany
Together we will observe the honeybee’s life and work inside the hive and in the forest, field and orchard.
We will study how the honeybee vitally enhances plant fertility and biodiversity. We will investigate how it produces honey, pollen, wax, propolis and royal jelly, and learn about the benefits of these precious products used by humans since ages.
Last but not least, we will taste a variety of organically produced honeys and learn how to use them to cook entire delicious meals.
At the end of your journey, you will have gained a deeper understanding of the threats to the bees’ lives and habitats, how their disappearance destabilizes our entire ecosystem, and what you can do to save the bees’ and preserve biodiversity.
This unique experience will be facilitated by Adelaide Valentini, an expert beekeeper with Bioapi Soc. Agr. S.S., permaculture practitioner, biodiversity and climate advocate.
You will be staying at Podere Trafonti, a tastefully restored organic farm estate nestled in the picturesque hills of central Tuscany.
Your host, Antonella Notari Vischer moved to Tuscany in 2017 to dedicate herself to organic farming, gardening and apiculture, and to share her aspiration for a mindful life in a healthy environment with her guests.
Podere Trafonti is a charming place conducive to leisure and relaxation with comfortable bedrooms, spacious common facilities, many enchanting sanctuaries in its garden, olive groves and forest and a large swimming pool to refresh.
During your stay, we will offer daily morning yoga practices to awaken your body and mind, and pamper you with healthy, seasonal and locally-sourced cuisine.
You will be able visit the historic towns of Montepulciano, Montefollonico and Pienza and enjoy the dazzling natural environment of the Val d’Orcia, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
We await you with open arms!
