Tentative itinerary Mantua Venice:

March 27/Venice Mestre

Arrive Venice Airport and transfer to hotel in Venice Mestre.

Time to rest and/or take the 10-minute train to the famed city of canals to Venice Santa Lucia station

March 28 Mantua
We welcome you aboard your new home- away from home from 4.30 p.m. onwards,
and then regroup for the introductory briefing – at 6.30 – with your tour leader,
skipper and crew, along with a first refreshing aperitivo. After dinner we can stroll
into town and savour the historic centre at its most evocative: Benvenuti a
Mantova!

March 29: Mantua round tour (35 km, vertical up 0 m)
A short circuit from the lakes of Mantua which continues in the "Parco del Fiume
Mincio".The second part of the stage will follow the canals in which the river
Mincio branches out.

March 30: Mantua-Governolo-Zelo (50 km, vertical up 0 m)
Easy route that runs along quiet country roads and sometimes on bike path. The
only difficulty arises from 4 km of unpaved road before reaching Zelo.
Navigation: about 90 minutes from Mantua to Governolo.

March 31: Zelo-Ferrara-Adria: (50 km by bike + 60 km by bus, vertical up 0 m)
This route is not difficult. Attention should be paid to traffic when you are crossing
the bridge over the river Po after the village of Ficarolo.
Transfer: about 70 minutes by private bus from Ferrara to Adria.

April 1: Adria-Porto Viro-Chioggia-Pellestrina (40 km, vertical up 0 m)
The itinerary starts with a double crossing on the river Po di Levante and with 2
km of unpaved road in good conditions. Be careful of the traffic when crossing the
bridges on the river Adige and Brenta, where you will have to walk pushing your
bike, sheltered by a guard-rail.
When you arrive in Chioggia, we recommend you to buy a 72 hour-ticket. When
you take the first ferry on the following day, you have to validate it and then it will
be valid for the next 72 hours.
Navigation:
- about 90 minutes from Adria to Porto Viro;
- about 30 minutes from Chioggia to Pellestrina.

April 2: Pellestrina-Venice (30 km, vertical up 0 m)
Wonderful last stage along the thin strip of land that separates the Venice lagoon
from the Adriatic Sea. A short path but full of opportunities for pleasant stops.
Navigation:
- about 15 minutes by public transport from Santa Maria del Mare to Alberoni;
- about 90 minutes from Malamocco to Venice (Giudecca Island).

April 3. Venice

After breakfast, meet up with our Venetian guide for a tour through the historic
centre. Christened La Serenissima ("The Most Serene"), the Venetian Republic
held sway over much of the Mediterranean (and beyond) for centuries – both as a
military power and a beacon of culture, her explorers reaching as far as China
and Newfoundland. After your guided tour, you have the afternoon free to enjoy
the city at your own pace.
